Sjac Profile
Sjac Weideman.
I started my coaching career at the HPC in 2007, started as a junior specialized coach.
Improved coaching style to a more all round coach to suit all caliber golfers when I started at Silver Lakes in 2009 and specialized in coaching from adult men, ladies from beginners to intermediate, corporate clinics, juniors from beginners to intermediate.
I enjoy improving all individuals and groups and seeing the results inspires me to be a good coach.
I have a firm belief that the fundamentals of the setup must be attended to first and foremost to ensure that the player is able to improves the cause of a bad swing not the result of a bad swing.
I will adhere to swing or technical changes as the player proves competent with the fundamentals.
Most of the time through my coaching experience a swing fault started with bad fundamentals.
The swing mechanics will automatically become a more natural movement once fundamentals are in place.
The swing does not have to be a complicated range of movements, once we move to technical movements I try and explain the specific movement that is longed from my student in simple terms and I try to get the player to keep the mental picture simple and too many thoughts to a minimum, one key thought for the player is enough to make the movement work.
Results are a combination of the correct information by the coach, a players trust in the coach's information and off course the commitment to the change from the players side.
I believe in getting constant feedback from the player regarding the changes and or swing thoughts and drills they have to do to improve, to ensure we are headed in the right direction.
